LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Retired Colonel Marcus Jones, candidate for Congress in Arkansas’s Second Congressional District, voted today alongside his wife Carrie Jones, his son Will Jones, and campaign supporters. Television media was in attendance.
From Ret. Col. Marcus Jones:
“The future of our economy, our maternal & rural healthcare, & our veteran’s services are at stake in this election. The Second District deserves battle-tested leadership that will deliver for Central Arkansas, and I’m ready to continue my service to our nation and our state in Congress.
I was proud to vote for that bright future we deserve today, alongside the folks that have supported our campaign since day one. I’m grateful for the folks who have knocked on more than 17,000 doors, for the grassroots donors that have contributed close to half a million dollars to our campaign, and who have sent more than 180,000 messages by phone and text to voters across the second district.
Politics-as-usual just won’t cut it anymore. We need fresh leadership. My opponent Rep. French Hill is the top recipient of money from commercial banks and mortgage brokers. Congressman Hill won’t ever represent working people: he’s already sold his vote to special interests and wall street donors.
I can promise this: I won’t let you or your family down when I’m in Congress.”
