LITTLE ROCK, Ark.— The Marcus Jones for U.S. Congress campaign achieved a significant milestone on Monday, marking the 5,000th door knocked as part of its grassroots effort to connect directly with voters across Arkansas’s Second Congressional District.
“5,000 doors is just the beginning,” said Retired Army Colonel Marcus Jones. “We are running the most efficient, effective, and robust field campaign in history of the Second District. We plan to knock on thousands more doors in Central Arkansas, taking our message directly to the voters who will decide this extremely close election.”
“Behind every door is a working family who deserves to be heard, and I’m committed to ensuring that their concerns are front and center in this race,” added Jones. “I have yet to hear that Rep. French Hill has knocked on a single constituent’s door during his last 10 years in office. When a voter mentions Rep. Hill, they barely know who he is, or it’s nearly always a negative comment focused on his indefensible votes against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act, against protecting interracial marriage,or his repeated failed attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and deny healthcare to thousands of Arkansans.”
“The Republicans think they pulled a fast one here with congressional redistricting; however, they failed to anticipate a candidate with a broad appeal like Colonel Jones. The precision of our field program will ensure that persuadable voters will choose a decorated Army Colonel and turn out to retire French Hill,” said Megan Jackson, Campaign Manager for the Marcus Jones campaign.
“We’ve developed the most sophisticated, data-driven campaign ever run in this state, and the early returns of our field program confirm recent polling that indicates increased support for Democrats across all voter demographics. This race will be decided on the knife’s edge.”
Megan Jackson served as the Deputy Campaign Manager for Dr. Chris Jones’s campaign for Governor. Jackson graduated from Little Rock Central High and earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She’s called the Second District home for half of her life, and she cares deeply about the future of the Natural State and her neighbors.
The campaign will intensify its voter outreach efforts in the coming weeks, with a goal of knocking on 10,000 doors before Election Day. Supporters are encouraged to volunteer, donate, and get involved to help bring about meaningful change in the Second District.
